Year of the Tiger

The Lantern Festival is a beautiful tradition that is celebrated on the fifteenth day of the first lunar month. It’s also the first full moon of the year. To celebrate the 2022 Year of the Tiger and honor my culture, I illustrated and animated a tiger cub overlooking the lantern festival from Li Jiang (the Li River) in Guilin, China. Guilin is known for its breathtaking karst hills and is north of where I was born. I felt closer to home every time I looked at reference photos of the region.
